Increasing air movement can have a dramatic effect in reducing fungal disease
such as botrytis, particularly in the winter months when vents are closed and natural
air flow is reduced. Circulating fans can be equally important in heated greenhouses in
preventing temperature stratification. This produces higher and more uniform
temperatures at crop level and can give significant savings in heating costs.
The 1400 rpm fans offer a particularly cost effective way of improving air
movement in a commercial size greenhouse. If the noise levels are a problem for
staff working close by, we can offer a controller which will allow the speed of
one or more fans to be varied from a single point giving much more flexibility
than a fixed fan speed.
